Conference "Best practice models in forecast-reporting systems” in Sarajevo

On May 28th and 29th project Agriculture Forecast – Reporting System (AFRS) in the Cross Border Region held conference with aim to transfer experience and best practices in applying forecast-reporting systems in agriculture. Project is founded by European Union and implementing by Agriculture Extension Services Uzice and Federal Institute for Agriculture Sarajevo with partner support of Regional Development Agency Zlatibor and Sarajevo Regional Development Agency.

During the conference various themes related to agriculture sectors were presented. Objective of the project was presented by project manager Bojana Nesic (Agriculture Extension Services Uzice), importance and situation in appliance of forecast-reporting system in Serbia was presented by Milenko Gavrilovic (Agriculture Extension Services Uzice) and on the same topic in Bosnia and Herzegovina by Azra Seratlic (Federal Institute for Agriculture Sarajevo). Professors from agriculture faculties in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar (Nedzad Karic, Vojislav Trkulja, Ivan Ostojic) and professor Mirza Dautbasic form Faculty of Forestry speak about experience and best practices in using pesticides, disease control, pest control and forest protection. After the second day of the conference all participants visited demonstration orchard planted in Federal Institute for Agriculture Sarajevo.

The conference was attended by representatives of local governments, public institutions, and agricultural producers from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
