Textile recycling among the best innovations in Serbia

In the final competition for innovative projects, organized within the PROFIS project  at the City Hall of the Municipality of Uzice, among seven innovative projects that signed up to participate in the competition, there was also the Textile recycling project of the Women's Center Association of Uzice.

In the final competition for innovative projects, organized within the PROFIS project  at the City Hall of the Municipality of Uzice, among seven innovative projects that signed up to participate in the competition, there was also the Textile recycling project of the Women's Center Association of Uzice.It was selected among the top three by an expert jury, so that all three will represent Serbia at the transnational competition in Budapest.
The project was nominated by this Association from Uzice and presented by its creator, Ms. Marina Tucović, engineer of textile technology. The project was presented as a rounded model for solving the problem of waste textiles, which includes the process from primary selection, through recycling, to the introduction and sale of new products made of these raw materials in the market.

The professional jury of the competition consisted of Prof. Dr. Branko Bugarski, Prof. Dr. Dragan Povrenović, Prof. Milovan Milivojević and Predrag Cvetić. The decision on the best three innovative proposals was made unanimously. In the future, the winners of the competition are expected to take part in several training sessions in order to prepare the presentation at the transnational competition  which will be held in Budapest, and which will bring together 27 innovative projects from nine countries involved in the PROFIS project.
