On the occasion of the implementation start of the project SMARTINNO - Intelligent Network and sustainable innovation cluster, the Zlatibor Regional Development Agency is organizing a promotional event SMARTINNO START-UP WEDNESDAY, on Wednesday, December 24th, 2014, starting at 12:00 pm in the amphitheater of the Business-Technical College of Vocational Studies in Uzice.

The aim of the organization of the event is to promote clustering, innovation in entrepreneurship and fostering of matchmaking with potential investors and R&D institutions. These topics are of great importance because they contribute to increasing of technology transfers and research results to the SMEs sector, which affects the increase in added value of the region. At the event, the National Agency for Regional Development will present the Enterprise Europe Network - EEN, which as the largest network ofor business support provides a diversified range of services for SMEs in Europe and beyond. Snezana Selakovic, the  expert who has participated in the establishment of several clusters in Serbia, will speak about the significance of associating and the benefits to the SME sector  which can be achieved through the operation of a cluster. Knowledge on Research  and as key factors for the application of innovations in the SME sector is a topic  which willl be presented by  professor Milovan Milivojević, employed by the Business-Technical College of Vocational Studies in Uzice.

At the end of the event, there will be formally awarded the certificates to innovative start-up projects named INMOLD PLAST and ReTEX , whose representatives  participated in the transnational competition of innovative projects within PROFIS project  in Budapest in early December 2014.

SMARTINNO project is co-financed by the European Union through the IPA Adriatic CBC Programme 2007-2013. The main objective of the project is the development of of "smart" networking systems for monitoring and encouraging research and innovation capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Adriatic region, in order to overcome the disadvantages such as the unavailability of sources of funding, the lack of synergy between small and medium-sized enterprises on one hand and holders of research and innovative functions, policy makers and investors on the other hand. In this context, the  SMARTINNO project will contribute to better matchmaking of supply and demand for innovations, providing educational and other services that provide better information for access to alternative sources of financing.
