In the final competition for innovative projects, organized within the PROFIS project at the City Hall of the Municipality of Uzice, among seven innovative projects that signed up to participate in the competition, there was also the Textile recycling project of the Women's Center Association of Uzice.
We are currently working on the adaptation of the premises which will house the equipment for sewing and where the recycling centre will be established.
Three-day training on social entrepreneurship, market positioning and marketing planning was held in Niksic, from 21 to 23 August, for the representatives of the two associations and project team members. Considering the complexity of the overall project, which is mainly reflected in establishing centers for the production of items from recycled textile and market strategy for its sustainability, this type of training was necessary and useful.
After two months of pre selection process, which consisted of multiple phases, 20 people who will attend one-month training on textile re-use and processing are selected. First step was creation of database of persons who had been registered as vulnerable groups in the National Employment Service-department of Uzice: women over 40 years of age, lower education degree and long-term unemployed. During the further selection, special attention was paid to other aspects of vulnerability, such as: degree of disability, membership of a minority group, status of single-mother, etc.
